Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Draft — legal review required. Update this page once the analytics provider and its cookie names are confirmed, and have it reviewed by a lawyer.

This page covers cookies and similar technologies, such as browser storage, on the UPVOTEBLUE website. For how we handle personal information in general, see our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • The site needs almost nothing stored on your device to work.
  • Our fonts are served from our own server, so no requests go to Google Fonts or similar services.
  • No advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
  • Analytics loads only after you say yes.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Browser storage such as localStorage does a similar job. On this page we refer to both as “cookies”.

Cookies we use

NameTypeCategoryPurposeDuration
ub-consentlocalStorageStrictly necessaryRemembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the banner doesn’t keep reappearingUntil you clear it or change your choice
Plausible scriptNo cookie, no local storageAnalytics (only with consent)Counts page views anonymously, without identifying youNot stored on your device

Strictly necessary

ub-consent is needed for the site to respect your choice, so it is set without asking. It doesn’t contain your name, email or anything else that identifies you directly.

When you submit a form, our form provider may process technical data to filter spam. Our forms are handled by a script on our own hosting: it filters spam with a hidden field and doesn’t set cookies.

We plan to use analytics to see which pages people read, where visitors come from and whether our forms work. Analytics runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics script loads.

We use Plausible Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal data or IP addresses, and stores aggregated statistics on servers in the EU. We still load it only after you accept analytics in the banner.

Advertising

We don’t use advertising or marketing cookies. If that ever changes, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent first.

Changing your preferences

  • Use the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer to reopen the banner and accept or decline analytics at any time.
  • After you decline, analytics no longer loads. Any analytics cookies already set can be removed in your browser settings.

Browser settings

You can also manage cookies and site data in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Clearing site data also removes ub-consent, so you’ll see the banner again on your next visit.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as declining analytics.
